So, as many of you may know, the final showdown for American Idol did not turn out as many Utahns had hoped for. Josh was in Florida, and called me with the news an hour before we would've found out. I wasn't sure if he was trying to trick me, so we kept watching and hoping. It may just be better for David A. if he's not committed to American Idol the way he would've been had he won. However, I have this motto in life: "You can either laugh or cry". Well, unlike the 13 yr old girls on T.V., I am definitely not going to cry about something like this. But, I find it a great opportunity to laugh. So, I have compiled my own little list about why David A. did not turn out to be the American Idol:
-Sony had a record deal signed with David before the morning news started on Thursday. Hmmmmmm-Anyone can vote as many times as they want??? It makes you wonder, how many automated phones does Sony have?
-David Cook's fans voted for him ALL NIGHT LONG! Most of David Archuleta's fans have bedtimes of 9:30
-David's not really sure why this happened, but he is going around to all of his fans, asking "Why didn't you STAND BY ME?"
-Everyone was horrified at the fact that we might see Mayor Snarr's moustache & patriotic shirt on television again
-He didn't want to show up the Jazz
-He didn't really care if he won. What he really wanted was that new Ford. Can you say "17 year old's bus days are OVER"?
-Enough people just couldn't "IMAGINE" him as the next American Idol
-He didn't perform to the best of his abilities because he was stressed out over a show & tell project that was due to his tutor on Thursday
-David actually bribed people not to vote for him when he found out that scout camp was going to fall on the same day that the recording session was scheduled for the new American Idol C.D.
AND FINALLY...........
-Because "THIS IS NOT THE PLACE" for the next American Idol
Our votes are still for David Archuleta. But yes, life does go on, and something tells me he's going to be just fine!!!!
